Today was the boat show and sail parade.  Had 230 boats and it was real fun.  Sailed under the London bridge and had a lot of spectators along the side.  Some spectators I can't put on the blog.  Tomorrow is the final day here and then we will be off and down  and up the colorado river for some sight seeing.  May not be able to blog for a few days.

HAPPY VALANTINES DAY
Yesterday we raced all day, in a long distance race.  Of course this means all morning was spent at the skippers meeting, and getting the boat prepared to race.   we did well, and had fun, but won't know how we finished until tonight at 7pm.  about 130 boats raced.
Last night we went to Mudsharks again,  and partied with about 100 other sailors, and had a wonderful buffet.  Played a dixie cup/water /fill the bucket/ after passing the dcups around thru the whole room/without spilling any water.  Easier said than done.
Slept in this morning, and its noon and we are at IHop for a big breakfast and lunch in one meal, then doing a few errands.
 Next event is this evening.

Monday

Boy, did it blow last night.  Only a little rain, called a sprinkle.  But all the lines and ropes were singing loudly all night.  Made for poor sleep,  but we made it ok, since we were in our dock, all safe and sound.  Checked into the convention toda, started our GPS poker run, and are pretty far ahead of the game.  Went to lunch with our friends Ron and chari, from derby. Boy could I use a nap, but did showers instead.  Some things are more important.  Haha
Now we are at the meet and greet at 3pm.  And then we will have our first seminar tonight on GPS.  Gary is so good with GPS, I wonder if they can teach us old dogs new tricks.
I don,t remember any more of the schedule, did I mention I need a nap?
Miss all my loved ones.  Our phones have been very quiet.

These are pics of our first outing of which was overnight and a BBQ.  33 boats sailed out the night before and more came today.  80 people in attendance.  We did some mountain climb to get the pics form above.  Notice the guy with the rope in his mouth  (Nelson)  he is a hoot.  Having a great time and the area is beautiful.

We are in Flagstaff. Good trip today.   Now it is snowing here.  Are we crazy or what.  Should be in Havasu tomorrow.  Highest elevation 7473 and now we will be dropping down to 1800feet.  If we go below 1800 the boat has a leak in it.  No close call today. 

First nite on the road

we decided tp knock off early tonight, for 2 reasons.  1. we are tired. & 2. we forgot about the time change, and we gained an hour, but oh well.  I need to NOT SIT ANYMORE TODAY.
Speaking of today, we almost got tangled up with 3 semi's and 3 deer and us all being in the time and space.  It all worked out well, no wrecks, and no big injuries, except 1 of the deer limped off after 1 semi clipped her..  Whew!
Driving along and one of the radio stations out here played "Lonely looks good on her" by the David Holland Band.  This is Todd's band.
Called Todd to tell him, and found out they were going to intersect at Liberal with us, on their way back from a ski trip this past weekend, the same time we were, so we got to meet for lunch at McDonalds.  Woohoo!
And whoever says Ks is flat?  Its not out here!
Ended up at Days Inn In Tucumcari, NM for the night.  Had a good steak dinner across the street, and now enjoying our down time, and computer, lap pad, and Ipod.  Think I will shower and be ready to stretch out and watch some tv and then sleep before another fun day!  Nite nite .

We are inside of 48 hrs now, of when we pull out Tuesday morning.  Pretty well packed, just last minute things to do.  We will fully load Monday when Gary gets back from a little work. We'll also go get the ice, pack coolers, etc, and be ready to pull out come daylite Tuesday.
Its SuperBowl Sunday, so need to go cook, and head over to Norton's with the Barbe's, and watch some great commercials.

Getting anxious and ready

We will be pulling out one week from tomorrow!  And today 's temps are 74 windy degrees, so we were just doing some more little things to get ready.  Gary has spent 2 days buffing and polishing our poor abused baby, that sat unattended for 2 1/2 yrs, and it looks beautiful!  So as I go out to take some stuff today, I found them!  tracks and tracks and more tracks!  Watch the video and see.

Then we cleaned them up again, and she is back to pretty again.  We had such laughter about the tracks, our sides hurt.  And its not our cat!

So, we will keep on getting ready, and stomping down our lives here for the next month, and covering as many details as we can think of, and hope we get them all.

We are headed for Havasu  NV soon.  first trip since the new hips.  Should be an expeiment to see if we can still handle the boat.
This is what Cheney Lake is like now without rain this summer so am hoping there will be water at Lake Havasu in Nevada.
