Still on the road

Today started out early, and progressed along nicely for awhile.  Then things and delays beyond our control started happening.  Lots of road constructions, plenty traffic and trucks in the way.  Some of the road construction made us sit and wait for our turn to go.  We got gas at a Pilot Gas station, and the pump didn't give us a ticket.  So we went inside to get a copy, and the poor gals couldn't print out our ticket.  After a long process of their calling corporate, it was determined it put our purchase on the last person to use that pump.  Boy will he be surprised!  Anyway, they then made a new tkt for our card.
Remember, we still hitting delay after delay.  The day goes on, and then I get the call from my sister that our brother had a heart attack early this am.  He is in the hospital, and will have a heart catch tomorrow am.  Please pray for him!
We have been as high as 7050 feet today.  Gone down Hugh mts, and gotten 99 mpg for that stretch.  Seen some really neat scenery, and volcanic rock formations.  It's fun to travel with an ex science teacher, who can explain a lot of natures whys for me.
So we are in Flagstaff for the night, and will make it to Lake Powell tomorrow.  Unless, I get the call that my brother is in trouble.  Pray for all of us tonight and tomorrow.

On the road again...

We decided to stop for the night in Dalhart, Tx, have a nice meal, and enjoy some of our favorite tv shows, and relax.  We will get up and finish the trip.  It turned cloudy, misty, and a lot cooler on the journey down. It was 91 and sunny at lake Powell today, same predicted for tomorrow.
Big Bang is on now, and then Under the Dome.  To bed early, and then up early.
Yeah,  we're really on vacation.  :)
Nite nite, BJ

1/2 way

Part way there to lake Powell  should be there tomorrow and maybe in water if before dark

Saturday... and its been a full one, and we are still at it.  It takes so much to shut down our lives to hand over to good folks doing nice things for us.  So that we can go play on one of our big toys, and visit another of God's beautiful places in this world we all call home planet.  Tomorrow is Sunday, and after church we will hit it hard again.  One more full day.  Hope I can get it all done.  And as usual, I wait until the very end to pack my own things.  Might go up now, and try to start anyway on the cloths gathering.  Have to shut my brain off tonight, I didn't get much sleep last night, and I am so tired.  Plan to hit the hay early tonight. We are headed out again.  May have some good pic or videos and stories.  And maybe some videos of the singing chef.
Ok folks, its time for Gary and I to shove off on our next adventure, and enjoy our sailboat, on Lake Powell in Utah/Arizona, for a whole month.  We will actually leave here Monday Sept. 15th, which is just  3 days from now.
How will we communicate with everyone?  Good question.
Answer is:  that we won't have much cell service out there, so when we do have a tower, we will post then, on both the blog and FB; and, also get your emails, calls, or Facebook posts.
We will be blogging on our original blog address.  http://greatadventure2009.blogspot.com
Check Gary's or my Facebook account, for a post.
Friend us so you can follow our antics.

For those of you on the RCC Prayer chain, Julie McNutt is doing me the very kind service of forwarding all your prayer requests while I am gone.  So all of you stay well, and don't break, burn, or cut yourselves while I am gone.
We hope to get some fabulous pictures while sailing, and when we go hiking.
In return, please pray for our safety.
Love to you all,
BJ & Gary
